you matter. A Brief Overview Assists in coordinating, planning,
implementing and facilitating programs and counseling services on
an outpatient basis. The Outpatient Therapist's responsibilities
may include several of the following areas: individual, group and
family counseling, crisis services/evaluation, tele-therapy
services, and current and future groups/programs. All of these
areas may involve providing assessments, facilitating treatment and
crisis intervention of clientele affected by mental health or dual
diagnoses issues. Providing community/education services will be a
part of this position and some travel is occasionally required.
What you will do
- Coordinates a clinical treatment program for the diagnosis,
treatment or referral of clients/patients presenting moderate to
severe social adjustment problems.
- Adheres to policies which assure the confidentiality of client
communications. Provides for a multi-disciplinary, holistic
approach to the treatment of clients, coordinating same with
appropriate hospital departments.
- Conducts individual, family, or group therapy sessions in
accordance with accepted principles of the National Association of
Social Workers.
- Assesses progress of clients/patients and modify or extend
treatment program accordingly. Coordinates care of clients/patients
with referring physician or agency.
- Documents therapy in accordance with hospital policies and
procedures on medical records.
- Intervenes as a crisis counselor in situations requiring
immediate psychological treatment such as substance abuse, suicide
attempts, psychotic episodes and other instances as outlined in
hospital policy.
- Refers client or patient to outside agencies where
appropriate.
- Communicates with family members/significant others in order to
further the effectiveness of client/patient treatment and
progress.
- Coordinates client/patient billing and modify treatment program
in accordance with insurance coverage, plan provisions, and
individual ability to pay.
- Provides educational programs on a variety of psychological
topics to hospital/community groups as requested. Essential

License/Certification, or Work Experience:
- Master's
- Licensed Professional Counselor - Mental Health (LPC-MH) -
Licensing Board An active license in the state of practice Upon
Hire or
- Clinical Social Worker - Practitioner in Private Practice
(CSW-PIP) - Licensing Board An active license in the state of
practice Upon Hire or
- Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) - Licensing Board

Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
- Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) - Department of Health and
Human Services An active license in the state of practice Upon
Hire
- 4-6 years Related experience and/or training
- Clinical experience facilitating group therapy sessions and
providing individuals counseling services
- Experience working with clients having dual diagnoses issues
(addictive disorders in conjunction with mental health
conditions)
- Clinical experience with couples and/or family therapy
